New year resolve to a healthy living
Today is the first day of the NEW YEAR and have you made resolutions as usual? I am here to suggest a few healthy resolutions for a fruitful and healthy life ahead!! A slimmer, healthier, more energetic and flexible body next year.
See these fruitful, healthy dietary changes to
take care of your health and make you smarter.
1. Take
Diet with more Omega-3 fatty acids: Omega-3
fatty acids is good for the heart. You can get Omega-3 by
eating walnuts, fish and flax seeds. Omega-3 is also good for getting help with
PMS (Post-Menopausal Syndrome) and menopause symptoms.
2. Be
Vegetarian or on most of the week days –So, pile up veggies: Daily
recommended intake of veggies is three servings or more. How many of us reach
this target? And then we complain of vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Veggies
are our source for many important vitamins. So to tackle fatigue, muscle pains, low sex drive and vision
problems, you can consciously eat more veggies from this new year onwards.
3. Eat
more fibre rich foods:-Fibre is key to health: Fibre found in veggies,
fruits and whole grains is crucial for the health of the gut. Remember the
adage that all diseases begin from the gut, so make fibre a part of your daily
diet. Getting enough fibre will also prevent cardiovascular disease, type 2
diabetes and a number of cancers. It will also help you slim down. Remember
that the recommended daily intake of fibre is 25 to 40 grams.
4. Stop
eating or cut down on red meat: This will be of great help to your heart
because you will be eliminating a huge source of saturated fats which increases
LDL (called as “bad cholesterol”) that causes obstructions in heart arteries.
Go for more tofu, soya and white meat.

Avoid or cut down sugars referred to a white
toxin:-Treat sugar as enemy no.1: We all eat too much sugar. In fact
scientists are calling sugar as the most potent drug of the 21st century and
with good reason. Health hazards of excess sugar consumption
include excess weight gain, abdominal obesity, elevated triglycerides etc.
Sugar also increases inflammation in the body and this is the cause of a number
of deadly diseases. One sure shot way to cut down on sugars is to stop eating
packed foods. Do you know that, processed foods contain a lot of hidden sugars
and fats? Munching on processed foods will be detrimental to your health.
To sum up, a healthy lifestyle is the need of the hour

Drink more water. Most of us actually don't drink enough water every
day. An adult needs to drink at least 6-8 glasses of water every day. And if you
drink one litter water on getting up from sleep it will tone up your systems
and make constipation a bygone memory. !!!

Get enough sleep. When you don't rest well, you compensate by eating
more. Develop a good sleep pattern and go bed a regular time and keep away all
gadgets like mobile and turn off sounds and light and use a dim light if yu prefer

Meditate. Meditation and yoga have remarkable ability to make you calm, relaxed
and fresh in mind and body.
· Exercise- You need not do heavy body building exercises, and simple
flexing and stretching or whatever you can do at home will help. Walking is definitely
and excellent way to good health Hence Pick exercises you enjoy. ..

Work out different parts of your body. ...
- · Eat more fruits. You need not go shopping for expensive and exotic fruits in hyper markets. Easily available seasons fruits will do wonders
- · Eat more vegetables. Here too, home-grown simple vegetables like lettuce or anything you can grow in your backyard or terrace ( as you feel fine) will help
